Middle Tersamian is the intermediate stage of Tersamian between Old Tersamian and Modern Standard Tersamian. The original Tersamian language that I developed in 2018 corresponds to the time period of Middle Tersamian, but it was eventually shelved away because it didn’t feel natural at all. Remnants of the original Tersamian survives as the current rendition of Middle Tersamian.
Middle Tersamian was spoken around 500 and 1500 years before present, after the Second Tersamian Empire splintered into hundreds of tiny warlord states, confederations and trading cities. Despite the fragmented environment, Middle Tersamian vocabulary and literature flourished, while absorbing strong influence from foreign languages. The T’úrsoomajatta writing system was developed 1000 years before present, setting the written standard for the Tersamian language.
